Lattice’s Intelligent SFP allows mobile and broadband networking equipment to obtain and report RMON statistics inline or through side-band channels. Lattice low-power, small-footprint FPGAs are an ideal fit for Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) Transceiver Modules that provide a subset of RFC2819 Remote Network MoNitoring (RMON) Statistics and Alarm functionalities. By using the LatticeECP3 FPGA SFP solution in your design, end-users can deliver a wide array of service monitoring, network analysis and network trouble-shooting within the SFP Transceiver module form factor and power envelope without requiring any hardware equipment upgrades.

Lattice’s SFP solution includes proven IP cores supporting RFC2819, MAC, SGMII, MDIO and I2C functionality to accelerate designs and enable quick time to market. A complete reference design, including layout, is also available to further mitigate project schedule risk.
